Hemming and Hawing
then finally saying f#ck it, let's go.
Consulting started for me right after I moved to Austin (I have since moved to Raleigh) when a very high powered tech executive reached out to me on Linked In with a very personal request. He wanted me to set up a Presidential Memorial Scholarship at a local University in memory of his son who had passed away 6 months prior. I promised to do my best and figure it out. It was a short-lived, successful project that forced me into unknown territory and an emotional roller coaster of empathy. It was the epitome of building the plane as you were flying it, except this plane was carrying the precious cargo of memories and grief and high powered people that had no idea who I was when I called for donations.
I learned that hemming and hawing can keep you from helping someone who really needs you. It can keep you from learning lessons that you might not learn otherwise. And, most importantly, it can keep you from making a real difference.
Say yes. And if you screw it up, say sorry, learn from it and move on.
At the same time I said yes to that guy on Linked In, I started working on a marketing membership that has morphed into 1000 different versions of itself and hemmed and hawed its way into the catacombs of my hard drive. And I reminded myself of my own advice and said “F#ck it. Let’s go.” So here it is.
The Great Marketing Membership is open now for enrollment and the first challenge starts on August 1st! It’s an approachable, affordable marketing and branding membership that will help you market your business in multiple channels, introduce marketing tools that you didn’t know you need and I’ll teach you how to use them to. It’s for the business owner that needs marketing but doesn’t have a budget. It’s only $47 a month and you can sign up RIGHT HERE. Have questions? Hit reply. I read every one 🙂 I’m still building this plane but there’s a ton already waiting for you to get started!
Have a great week and don’t be afraid to take off…you never know what kind of difference you will make.
xoxo,
Steph
