The scroll that makes you question everything (but you’re actually fine)

We’ve heard it a million times as business owners. Don’t believe the hype on social media. I can not count the number of women making $50k a month doing everything from high ticket coaching to selling stuff on Amazon to starting a profitable podcast. And if you want to know exactly how to do it, you just need to pay $2500 and the secrets will be unveiled. I will admit. I have clicked, I have downloaded and I have paid. More than once. And here’s what I learned.

1. Making a lot of money really fast is not usually the result of a secret process or checklist, it’s because of a massive marketing budget.

2. There are actual psychological tactics that are used in a lot of that marketing budget like scarcity (I’m only taking 20 people in my new mastermind), Urgency (Time is running out! Sign up now), and anchoring (Product value is $4700 but you get it all for $8). And those are just a few.

3. Your success is not going to happen because of a course, it’s going to happen because you are confident in your ability to make it happen and you found trusted experts (actual human people you know IRL) to answer the questions about what you don’t know.

4. Patience is paramount.

Social media is more dangerous for solopreneurs and small business owners than it is a help. We spend most of our time looking at what others are doing and wondering if we should copy it, if it’s real and if we actually suck because all of these other people are thriving because they did this one thing in their business that you can only find out if you comment “AMAZING” for the free guide.

So, what is my point?

I’m just going to start sharing stuff. For free. No opt in. No secret word. Just what I’m doing and if it’s working or not. I’ll post it on my Instagram account HERE and hopefully become one of the people on the internet that you can trust.
